Binary mixtures of (N-phosphonomethyl)-glycine with new aminophosphonates.

چکیده
The potential biological activity of binary mixtures of some new organophosphorous compounds, aminoalkane- and aminofluorenephosphonates, with (N-phosphonomethyl)-glycine (glyphosate, PMG) was studied. The inhibition of growth of wheat (Triticum aestivum) induced by individual compounds and their equimolar mixtures with PMG was a measure of that activity. The experiments were expected to show if the new compounds exhibited good biological activity to be used for agrochemical applications and if this activity can be improved when they are used in mixtures with glyphosate which is the active component of the well-known herbicide Roundup. The results obtained show that aminofluorenephosphonates inhibited wheat growth when used in micromolar concentrations. Thus, their efficiency can be compared to that of PMG. The efficiency of aminoalkanephosphonates was one order of magnitude weaker. The measure of the efficiency was the effective concentration inhibiting wheat growth by 50% (EC50). The most demanded interaction, i.e., a synergistic was observed for only one of binary mixtures of the compounds studied with PMG. Mostly they showed antagonistic or strong antagonistic interactions. Some of them were of the additive type. Such results exclude the possibility of potential use of all the compounds studied in binary mixtures with phosphonomethylglycine, especially as the mentioned synergistic interaction found was rather weak. The influence of structural features of anminophosphonates on the results obtained is discussed.

A series of new aminoalkane- and aminofluorenephosphonates was synthesized for agrochemical application. The particular compounds had different alkyl substituents at the carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus atoms. Their pesticidal activity was checked by applying various experimental methods. These included the measurements of compounds' potency: to inhibit growth of cucumber and germination of whit...
متن کاملStudy of Volumetric Properties of N,N-Dimethyl Acetamide and 1-Alkanols Binary Mixtures at 298.15 K
In this study, the densities, excess molar volumes and partial molar volumes of four binary systems containing N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) with 1-alkanols (1-butanol up to 1-heptanol) are measured at 298.15 K. The results showed both constructive and expansive excess volumetric behavior for studying binary mixtures. Deviation values of heavy alcohol have more positive and less negative excess...
متن کاملCompressed Liquid Densities for Binary Mixtures at Temperatures from 280- 440K at Pressures up to 200 MPa
A method for predicting liquid densities of binary mixtures from heat of vaporization and liquid densityat boiling point temperature (ΔHvap and n b ρ ) as scaling constants, is presented. B2(T) follows a promisingcorresponding-states principle. Calculation of α(T) and b(T), the two other temperature-dependentconstants of the equation of state, are made possible by scaling. As a result ΔHvap and...
متن کاملA New Surface Tension Model for Prediction of Interaction Energy between Components and Activity Coefficients in Binary Systems
In this work, we develop a correlative model based on the surface tension data in order to calculate thermodynamic parameters, such as interaction energy between components (Uij), activity coefficients and etc. In the new approach, by using Li et al. (LWW) model, a three-parameter surface tension equation is derived for liquid mixtures. The surface tension data of 54 aqueous and 73 non-aqueous ...
متن کاملMeasurement of Selected Thermophysical and Viscosity of Binary Mixtures of Nitromethane with 2-Propanol, 2-Butanol and 2-Pentanol
The density and viscosity values at T= (293.15 to 323.15) K for binary mixtures of nitromethane with 2-propanol, 2-butanol and 2-pentanol were measured over the entire composition range. From the experimental data, excess molar volumes, thermal expansion coefficients, excess thermal expansions, partial molar volumes at infinite dilution and deviations in viscosity were calculated. The results w...
